Two Films: SouthSide Film Festival

Reflection and My Deer Friend, both selected to screen at the SouthSide Film Festival this June.

Reflection (a film by Dan Dowding) is a film on which I served as one of the Cinematographers, along with Alex Winter.

My Deer Friend (a film by Andrew Cherry) is a film on which I served as camera operator. My friend Nathan Blair did a fantastic job as Director of Photography.

SSFF is in it's sixth year and is held in Pennsylvania.

Reflection: Screens in My Home State

Reflection to Screen at the Oxford International Film Festival

The Dan Dowding film Reflection, on which I served as a Director of Photography along with Alex Winter, has been accepted and will screen in my homestate of Ohio. I am very excited and proud to have a film I shot be recognized and screened for a cinema audience in the Buckeye State, even if it's not in Northeast Ohio.

I moved from Akron, Ohio to Savannah, Georgia to attend Film School and pursue my cinematoraphy ambitions. The film Reflection was shot within the cities of Savannah and Atlanta. In an odd coincidence, the Oxford International Film Festival screening is held at the Savannah Center in West Chester, Ohio.

I unfortunately am unavailable to attend the festival, as I have a prior commitment which will keep me in England for two months of shooting. I have read some good reviews of the festival and wish them the best of luck!

"Game Show" Screened at the Kent Film Festival

Game Show Screens at Kent Film Festival

The short film GameShow, directed by Vin Carubia, was accepted and recently screened at the Kent Film Festival in Kent, Connecticut.

I served as Director of Photography on the project. The first half of the film represents a depressing reality. It was shot on a Panasonic HVX200 with 35mm optics for shallow depth. The second half of the film, the GameShow, was shot on the Sony F900 and is more television like with brighter and deeper Depth of Field.

Stay tuned for more information on this film. Stills are available on my website at www.RyanPatrickOHara.com .
