Man Tan

Jamie Olmstead, a classmate of mine, brings us this funny short film. He recruited me to DP and shoot his final directing the narrative project about two days before it was due. His concept was based off of a college humor article, and the video is a hilarious viral video. It was a featured short on youtube and is something different from the longer more serious narratives I usually work on.

I used mainly small (650w fresnels or 1k's with CTB and diffusion) arri lights at 45* angles from the counter. I wanted to add light to the actors faces to create a low contrast lighting ratio, and to also be able to stop down to expose for the actors and let the background expose darker to help isolate the action from the rest of the large room.

Enjoy the video!
